3pm Solo Blues: Making it Personal, Making it Shared
Variations are one of the most exciting things about solo blues
movements. We'll start with solo jazz staples like fishtails, and
explore ways to make them your own, with style and pizazz. From there
we'll put the movements into partnership- how can you still connect
with your partner while having your own voice? We all talk about
conversation in a partnership- this class will give you some concrete
tools to find the dialogue.
4pm Connection Crazy
Oh, wow. Just... wow. Who doesn't want to hear a partner exclaim that?
In this class we play with dance connection, and from it, creativity,
through non-traditional connection points, statues games, and other
connection games. Fine-tune your close embrace and find freedom and
fun in open.
5pm Ninja Style
"Follow expression" is often an elusive topic. We'll tackle concrete
ways for follows to express their own style and the music, while
staying within the parameters of following. We'll also show leads
great ways to give room for follow voice. Discover ways to explore
musicality that influence your partner overtly, and ways that are
sneaky, like a Ninja.
